studio history

Center Studio Architecture was founded in 2004 by David Arneson and Scott Harmon. What began as a two-person practice has evolved over more than twenty years into a respected design firm known for thoughtful architecture and lasting client relationships. As the practice expanded to include residential, commercial, restaurant, and mixed-use projects, the partners recognized an opportunity to create a second company that would bring the design mentality of the architecture practice to real estate development. Center Studio Architecture would continue to focus on architecture and design, while ReVamp Durham was established as a development company focused on bringing mixed-use and multi-family projects from concept through completion.

Today, Center Studio Architecture is led by partners David Arneson and Nilam Patel, specializing in residential and small commercial work. ReVamp Durham is led by Scott Harmon and Dave Olverson and focuses on commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use development throughout the Triangle.

While the companies now operate independently, they continue to share the history, values, and collaborative spirit that have shaped their work from the beginning.
